Our Mission

Protecting Lytle Creek Strays

The Wanted Animal Project protects the stray, abandoned and community animals of Lytle Creek, California. Through humane trap-neuter-vaccinate-release, mountain rescue and rehoming, and veterinary assistance for families in need, we work to ease animal suffering, curb pet overpopulation, and keep pets with the people who love them. We're powered by neighbors and supporters near and far.

What We Do

Community cat program (TNVR)

We trap cats, get them spayed or neutered and vaccinated, then release them back where they live, so the population stays healthy and in check.

Mountain rescue

Animals get abandoned in our mountains, and someone has to show up. We set out food stations, trap animals in need, and work to find them safe homes.

Help with vet bills

When money is the only thing standing between a pet and the vet, we step in to help local families with the cost.

Founded by Lytle Creek's "Hometown Hero"

The Wanted Animal Project's founder, Travis, has been honored by the Lytle Creek Community Center, recognized by the County of San Bernardino, and featured on the cover of The Canyon. He and his wife, Clair, started The Wanted Animal Project to give the stray and abandoned animals of Lytle Creek a fighting chance.

Rescue Stories

A young dog left in the mountains after being used for breeding. A curly-haired girl abandoned in town and kept safe by a neighbor until we could reach her. And one shy survivor still living in the hills, waiting for the day she's ready to trust. Every animal we help has a story, and some are still being written.
